Luanda – The Namibian National Team landed in Luanda on Sunday (13) night, where from Monday (14) they are to participate in the International Gymnastics Tournament, at the Kilamba multipurpose pavilion, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Angola national Independence.
Namibia arrived with a delegation of 8 representatives, including 6 athletes.
According to information provided to ANGOP by the Chair of the Angolan Gymnastics Federation, Miriam Valentim, Zimbabwe, the first delegation to arrive, also has a group of 8 members, including 6 athletes.
The source informed that Brazil and Portugal are scheduled to land in the Angolan capital on Monday (14) morning.
The South African team has not yet confirmed its participation, while Cape Verde has withdrawn.
On Monday, the event will be marked by training to adapt to the competition equipment and venue, in addition to the technical meeting.
This is the first international gymnastics competition to be held in the country.
