Mbanza-Kongo – Twenty-seven Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) citizens were arrested, on Wednesday (16), by the police authorities in Angola’s northern province of Zaire for violating the border perimeter.
In statements to the press, the spokesperson for the national police in that province, superintendent Luís Bernardo, explained that of this number, 11 are women accompanied by 4 minors under the age of 16.
He reported that the arrests took place at the border posts of Luvo, Kanga, Jean Mary and Ntoyo.
Luís Bernardo added that, in the last 24 hours, the national police in Zaire registered a total of 12 border violations, including an undeclared goods export attempt to the neighboring country.
The aforementioned illegal immigrants have already been repatriated by the local immigration authorities. JL/CF/DOJ
