Mbanza Kongo - One hundred and eighty-two vehicles, 131 boats and 119 motorcycles used in fuel smuggling in Angolan Zaire province were seized from January 2024 to January 2025.

This balance was announced by the secretary of the technical subcommittee for the identification of crime matters, Alves René, when he was speaking to the press on Saturday.

In the same period, 667,350 liters of fuel that were to be taken to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were seized.

Alves René has been member of the subcommittee of the Multi-sectoral Commission to Combat Fuel Smuggling that traveled to Zaire province.

The Commission, headed by the counselor judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, Daniel Modesto Geraldes, worked in the province of Zaire, passing through the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Luvo and Soyo.

The commission integrates different bodies of the administration of justice in the country and will continue with this work in the other border provinces, with the aim of speeding up the treatment of these cases so that they deliver the means in favor of the State. PMV/HDC/DOJ
