Dundo - The transfer of prosecution department magistrates to the interior of the north-eastern province of Lunda-Norte, and the assessment of some specific and sensitive cases, marked the second day of visit of the Attorney-General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Gróz, to this region.
The official, who is on his second day of his working visit to this province, began his inspection tour in the Dundo Regional Museum, considered the largest cultural collection in the eastern region.
He also visited the facilities of the Attorney General's Office of Lunda-Norte and met with the institution's staffs, having analysed with them the plan to transfer some prosecutors to the municipalities recently created within the scope of the New Politico-Administrative Division.
According to the director of the PGR Press Office, Álvaro João, the top prosecutor was also informed about the working conditions of the magistrates, which must be improved, and the shortage of technicians to meet the demand for cases.
He said that in the morning, the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Ms Elizabete Paulo, led the release ceremony of the seven citizens who benefited from the presidential pardon and later held a consultation meeting with the inmates of the Cacanda prison.
The working visit of the Attorney General of the Republic to the Province of Lunda-Norte, which ends on Tuesday, is part of the commemorations of the 46th anniversary of the Attorney General's Office, to be marked on the 27th of this month.
