Catete - The believers of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World (Tocoista) celebrated Sunday, in Catete, the 90th anniversary of the Theophany to the Tocoists, which took place in this locality on April 17, 1935.

The theophany for the Tocoists is understood as the act of the 'appearance of God to the prophet and founding leader of the Church, Simão Gonçalves Toco', a moment experienced in Catete in 1935, where he received the 'gift of the Holy Spirit'.

The event that ended on Sunday took place from the 19th to the 20th of this month and brought together in Catete about 6,000 pilgrims from the provinces of Bengo, Luanda and Icolo and Bengo.

In the sermon, the auxiliary bishop, Dom Simão Fernando Quibeta, who presided over the celebrations, stressed that people must abandon the style of servitude of this world and seek joy and harmony in God to create a more peaceful society.

For his part, the municipal administrator of Catete, province of Icolo and Bengo, Anderson Pedro, said that the celebration of theophany, held in their territory, is a gain for the people of Catete.

'The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World is already part of the people of Catete and the Sanctuary, (place of the apparition of God to the prophet, Simão Gonçalves Toco) is a space for all inhabitants of this national territory', stressed the administrator.

This event is held annually in greeting to its founding leader, Simão Gonçalves Toco, who died on December 31, 1983, victim of illness, at the age of 65, in Luanda.
