Cazenga - The Chairperson of the Angolan Armed Forces' (FAA) Higher Council for Military Discipline, Adão Adriano António, on Friday in Luanda, defended a continuous innovation and diversification, with a view to enhancing the technical and scientific potential of the military in defense of the homeland.
According to the high-ranking officer of the Armed Forces, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year of the War College (ESG), investment in the knowledge of personnel ensures the contribution of military skills to the defense of the homeland.
Adão Adriano António said that to this end, the War College is a top reference in the FAA's education chain, also serving as military training option for some countries with excellent relations with Angola, mainly on the African continent.
He emphasized that, in recent years, the institution has undergone significant reform in the context of higher education, with a view to consolidating and affirming it, with a view to turning it into an Academy of Higher Military Studies in the near future.
In turn, the commander of the War College, Massoni João, highlighted that the new development of the FAA has been determined by a complex of scientific, technical and command readaptation exercises, of which military training is one of the main priorities.
He also recalled that the school's mission is not limited to training commanders or leaders, but extends to in-depth research into military and other matters, the aim of which is to produce knowledge aligned with the interests of national defense and security.
The military academic year will last approximately ten months.
