Cacuaco – Five people died and 26 were injured following a road accident that occurred this morning (Thursday) on Avenida Fidel Castro (aka via Expresso towards Sequele-Sede de Cacuaco), the clinical director of the hospital municipal, Bernardino Chicapa confirmed.
According to the source, of the fatalities, four occurred at the scene of the accident and one when he was transported with 25 other injured people to the health unit for medical and medication assistance.
Of the injured, he said, there were injuries of low, medium and high complexity severity, including cases of fractures, one with abdominal trauma was sent to the operating room and, due to overload, seven others with multiple traumas were transferred to hospitals in the Prenda and Josina Machel, Luanda city center.
He guaranteed that the injured being treated at the municipal hospital of Cacuaco are stable, two of which are “more worrying” cases with blunt abdominal and chest trauma, respectively, as well as others with closed femur and tibia fractures, of medium complexity, which are expected to continue under observation.
The accident occurred when a heavy vehicle collided with another light vehicle, which was providing a taxi service at a time when it was dropping off passengers at a stop station next to a walk bridge, towards Sequele-Sede Municipal de Cacuaco, reported some of the survivors. SEC/PA/CF/DOJ
