Lisbon - The Ombuds Offices of Angola and Portugal signed on Tuesday, in Lisbon, an agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation ties.
According to a press release, the Angolan and Portuguese Ombuds offices heads, respectively Florbela Araújo and Lúcia Amaral, signed the document.
The document emphasizes that the cooperation memorandum will allow the creation of conditions for sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences between the two Ombuds Offices, with a view to institutional strengthening for the successful fulfilment of their respective missions.
In addition to sharing experiences and good practices of intervention procedures and strategies, the agreement provides for the periodic exchange of publications, educational information materials and studies on the Ombudsman's interventions and the exchange of officials from the competent services for the study of administrative techniques and procedures used.
This agreement also includes the creation of means that facilitate the access of both countries’ citizens residing in the diaspora to the services of their respective Ombuds offices.
The Angolan Ombudswoman, Florbela Araújo, is carrying out a working visit of a few days to Portugal, with the aim of collecting experiences in judicial matters and the handling of complaints from citizens.
