Luanda - Minister of State and Chief of Security Affairs Office to the President of the Republic Francisco Pereira Furtado has pledged rigour in the work to improve the structures and methodology for controlling the staff of the country's defence and security organs.
Sworn in on Tuesday by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, Francisco Furtado promised thorough work on physical registration of the staff of Defence and Security bodies.
The move is meant to ensure better dignity to the organs that serve the Nation, aimed at adapting them to the country's reality in terms of functional duties and obligations, he told the press at the end of swearing in ceremony.
“We are going to start work and then show results”, said the Head of Security Affairs Office to the President of the Republic, who pledged discipline and organisation.
Francisco Pereira Furtado, the Army General, who served as Chief of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), takes over from Pedro Sebastião, who was dismissed on Monday, by Presidential decree.
The president also swore in on Tuesday Paulo Dinis Luvambano, as deputy governor of Cabinda for Technical Services and Infrastructure, and Angelino Mungila Kissonde, as deputy governor of Malanje for Technical Services and Infrastructure.
The list includes Augusto da Silva Cunha, as Angola's ambassador to Russia, and João Pereira Massano, as Head of the Military Intelligence Service.
