Luanda - The Foreign Affairs Minister, Téte António, arrived in New Jersey on Thursday morning for a 48-hour working visit to the United States of America (USA).
Upon his arrival at the local airport in Teterboro, the Angolan diplomat was received by the Angolan Ambassador to the United States, Agostinho Van-Dúnem, and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Francisco da Cruz, among other diplomats.
The Angolan diplomat's working visit to the United States includes activities at Princeton University, in the state of New Jersey, as well as in the town of Sloatsburg, in the state of New York.
According to the program, Minister Téte António, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Executive Council of the African Union, will be the guest of honor at Princeton University and will be the keynote speaker sharing his perspectives on Angola's internal development and the country's growing role on the global stage.
Téte António will also focus on the challenges and opportunities facing the African continent, particularly in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), analyzing socio-economic, political and environmental issues.
The Minister will be welcomed by the authorities of the town of Sloatsburg, in the State of New York, to participate in a special event dedicated to African kinship among Native American societies, where he will be honored and recognized for Angola's outstanding work and contributions in holding the presidency of the African Union, with a special focus on the work carried out on behalf of the African Diaspora.
These activities are part of the priorities on the agenda of the Angolan Presidency of the African Union, under the central theme of "Justice for Africans and Afro-descendants through reparations". SC/AMP
