Ramiros - Three candidates are running for the chair of Secretary-General of the Angolan Writers' Union (UEA), for the 3-year term (2025-2027), in an election that will be held on May 10.

These are the writers Lopito Feijó, Marta Santos and Kanguimbo Ananás, who head lists A, B and C, respectively, according to a press release sent to ANGOP.

As per the document, the Electoral Commission is chaired by the writer Bendinho Freitas.

The electoral calendar began on March 25 of this year and ended on April 15, a period that was reserved for the presentation of candidacies.

The second stage is now taking place, the phase of the electoral campaign that runs from the 16th of the current and goes until May 8.

The document states that the process will continue with the 3rd phase, starting on May 9, which will be dedicated to the reflection of the members before the general election to be held on the 10th of the same month.

After this stage, the results will be announced, followed by the inauguration of the new Secretary-General scheduled for May 24.
