Luanda - The Chana Group, an Angolan company in the automobile sector, joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability in the area of mobility.

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and dissemination of responsible and sustainable business practices, which helps companies align their business strategies with the 10 principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

The global movement aims to mobilize companies and interested parties (Government, academia, investors and civil society) to promote actions and policies around the world, through social responsibility and sustainability.

“It is with great pride that we announce that Chana SA has become the first company in the automotive sector in Angola to join the UN Global Compact. This is a significant milestone for our group and a reflection of our commitment”, reads a note from the institution, to which ANGOP has had access.

Quoted in the document, the company's Board chairperson, Diandra Vaal Neto, said she believes that the adoption of these practices is essential not only for the success and longevity of the Chana Group's business, but also to contribute positively to society and the country's environment.

According to the manager, being pioneers in this movement reinforces the vision of leading by example and inspiring other companies to follow the same path.

“We are convinced that, by joining the Global Compact, we strengthen our capacity to generate positive and sustainable impacts”, she stated.
