Luanda – Sagrada Esperança (Angola) are in Group D of the African Champions Club League together with Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia), Pyramids (Egypt) and Djoliba AC (Mali).
According to the draw for the competition, held on Monday at the headquarters of the African Football Confederation (CAF) in Egypt, TP Mazembe (DRC), Young Africans (Tanzania), Al Hilal (Sudan) and MC (Algeria) are included in Group A.
Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Maniema Union (DRC), Raja Casablanca and ASFAR (both from Morocco) are in Group B.
In Group C are Al Ahly (Egypt), CR Belouizdad (Algeria), Orlando Pirates (South Africa) and Stade d´Abidjan (Côte d´Ivoire).
To reach the Group stage of the biggest club league on the continent, the Sagrada Esperança defeated Saint Louis Suns United from the Seychelles Islands by 1-0 and 3-0 on the 1st and 2nd leg, respectively.
In the 2nd round match, Sagrada Esperança lost in the 1st leg against Nigeria's Enugu Rangers, 1-0, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
In the 2nd leg's response, the Lunda team guaranteed their qualification by defeating the Nigerians, 3-1, in a match played at the 11 de Novembro stadium.
