Benguela - Sagrada Esperança beat Benguela's Isaac 2-1 Sunday and secured the third position in the "Girabola 2022/23" national first division football championship.
Sagrada Esperança goals were scored by Victorino at 57' and Luís Tati, at 78', while Kinho, at 63', scored the goal for Isaac.
With this result, Sagrada Esperança secured a spot in the CAF Cup, while the championship winner Petro (69 pts) and runners-up 1.º de Agosto (61 pts) compete in the Champions League.
Sporting de Benguela (14th with 20 pts), ASK Dragão (15th with 13 pts) and Cuando Cubango FC, who withdrew due to lack of finance, were all relegated.
Speaking in a post-match press conference, Sagrada Esperança assistant coach António Lebo Lebo said the most important thing was to win the game and secure third place.
Isaac de Benguela head coach, Isaac Celestino, on his turn, said he knew it would be a difficult game and that the opponent was fighting for the third place, but even so his boys managed to dignify the show.
Sagrada Esperança adds 55 points in the third position of Girabola 2022/23, while Isaac keeps 22 points in the 14th position.
