Luanda – Angola’s 1ºde Agosto loaned the pivot Vivalda Silva to Egypt’s Al Ahly to play the 44th edition of the Africa Women's Handball Championship for Clubs Champions to take place from September 28 to October 7, in Brazzaville.
The 26-year-old player has been working with her new team since Tuesday in Cairo, and is due to return to 1º de Agosto at the end of the continental competition.
Vivalda Silva is a 1º de Agosto player that has made a name for herself in Angola, having been called up to the senior national team two times .
The player, a senior African champion in 2022 in Yaoundé (Cameroon), is representing a foreign club for the first time in her career.
She was crowned national champion and Super Cup and the provincial championship winner in 2022 with 1º de Agosto.
Al Ahly are in Group A, along with the defending 1.º de Agosto and Congo’s Grain Sel and Cameroon’s Nziko.
Group B includes Angola’s Petro de Luanda, Cameroon’s Fap, Bandama of Côte d'Ivoire and DGSP from Congo.WR/MC/AMP
