Luanda - A cruise ship called “Seabourn Sojourn”, on Saturday docked at the Port of Luanda, with 215 tourists of various nationalities, for a one-day stay.

The visit program in the capital city includes visit to Miradouro-da-Lua (Viewpoint of the Moon), Fortress of São Miguel, Palácio de Ferro cultural house, Luanda Bay, among other tourist attractions.

The Cruise Ship, coming from northern Europe and heading to Cape Town, South Africa, after the capital, will dock on Sunday in the province of Benguela to also visit some tourist attractions in the region.

The aforementioned cruise passes through Angola on the initiative of the Trave-Gest Tourism Agency.

On the occasion, the American tourist, Donna Halley, said that one of the reasons why she visits Angola is to get to know some tourist attractions up close, which she even researched on social media.

Donna Halley informed that she wants to learn more about what she saw through social media, as well as to learn more about the country’s history.

Another tourist, of Canadian nationality, Therril Greebo, said he was impressed by the music, dance and Angolan costumes.

The tourist revealed that he was always curious to get to know Angola and enjoyed seeing cultural manifestations through dance.

In turn, the general director of the Trave-Gest Tourism Agency, José Cabral, said that the docking of the aforementioned ship is a sign that tourists and boarding companies like to visit Angola with the aim of discovering the country's tourist potential.

“We have a shipping company that already makes Luanda the entry and exit point for passengers”, he highlighted that there are already ships scheduled to dock in the country in the next two years.

The official recalled that the “Seabourn Sojourn” is the third cruise ship that docks in Luanda, after the first that stopped by in June this year of North American origin called “Serenade of the Seas”, with 767 tourists of different nationalities.

The cruise ship “Seabourn Sojourn”, is an oceangoing ship launched in 2010, with a length of 198 meters and a passenger capacity of more than 400 guests.

The data indicate that this is the 52nd cruise to dock in Luanda, since 2012, as part of the promotion of tourism in the country.
