Sumbe – Forty technicians from municipal administrations and tourism guides in Cuanza Sul have, since Thursday, been receiving instructions on decentralization of tourism management, supply structure and visitor flow.
The training, lasting two days, is an initiative of the National Directorate of Tourism Development that aims to provide participants with municipal management tools.
According to the seminar's agenda, there are topics such as contextualization and training of tourism managers, the municipality as a tourist destination, decentralization of management, natural and cultural resources, among others.
At the opening of the event, the National Director of Tourism Development, Dinis Quicassa, said that tourist sites play a very important role in the country's development
For this reason, he continued, technicians from municipal administrations are being trained and equipped with the capacity to investigate and better understand the province's tourism potential.
“It is important to boost tourism and have knowledge about tourism inventories and registration, planning, management and transforming resources into a tourist product so that they can be attractive and receive visitors”, he added.
The work agenda includes a visit to the Binga waterfalls and the Rural Tour.
Cuanza Sul has registered more than 180 tourist attractions, with emphasis on the Binga waterfalls, the Hot Waters of Tocota and the municipal swimming pools of Conda, the Sassa cave in Sumbe and the Quicombo Gorge. Cij/Lc/AC/DOJ
