Lubango – More than 50 national and foreign excursionists, families, academics and professionals from different sectors participated, over the weekend, in a tourist and academic excursion called “rediscovering the Angola charms”.
The event was promoted by the company Criar Sabendo, with the aim of visiting the charms of the province of Huíla and getting to know the main local tourist attractions and promoting academic tourism.
Austino Muampatchi, Humpata's municipal director of Culture and Tourism, said the tour enabled tourists to explore and know already famous sites and others that need to be disseminated.
The program included, according to the source, a “sitting around the campfire” at Miradouro da Serra da Leba, an academic meeting that aimed to deepen knowledge about the history and culture of Nyaneka cultural group, where the languages of Bantu origin, as a factor of national unity was discussed.
The excursionists visited the Urban Tourist Route in the old part of the city of Lubango, as well as some emblematic places such as the Tourist and Sports Complex of Nossa Senhora do Monte, the Regional Museum of Huíla, Cristo Rei, N´gola Beer factory, among others.
The “Rediscovering Angola charms” Project was launched in 2022, in the province of Huambo and has already gone through Benguela and Malanje provinces.
