Luanda- Botswana's Ecotourism company Wilderness Safari on Wednesday showed once again it's great interest in investing in tourism in Angola's Okavango region.
The interest was restated by the member of the company's Board of Directors, Derick de La Harpe, at a meeting held in Botswana's fifth largest city, Maun, with an Angolan delegation headed by the Coordinator of the Technical Group of support to the Multisectoral Group which is in charge for the analysis and inventory of the wildlife and land resources of the Okavango Region, Rui Lisboa.
At the meeting, the representative of Wilderness Safari said that his company is interested in extending its business in the Angolan region of the Okavango, as in 2021 it had already presented its business plan for the Bico area of Angola, taking into account the importance of the location for promoting cross-border tourism.
Rui Lisboa visited some of the company's tourist concessions and was satisfied with the tourist camp models, given that they are fully built with local raw material without interfering with wildlife migratory corridors and with a waste management system that safeguards the region's ecosystem.
The Wilderness Safari is represented in more than 10 African countries, as well as in the South American continent.
The Angolan delegation has been in Botswana since the 17th of the current month and is holding several meetings with public and private operators in the tourism sector with the aim of developing the Angolan Okavango region. VS/ART/MRA/jmc
