Luanda – Angola airlines (TAAG) took part in the 4th edition of the Lisbon International Tourism Exchange, in Portugal, held from February 28 to March 3, where it promoted Angola and Africa tourist destinations.
According to a press release sent to ANGOP on Monday, many African connections most sought after by passengers from Portugal and Europe in general were also highlighted at the event.
"Luanda (Angola), Maputo (Mozambique), Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa) and Windhoek (Namibia) are the most popular destinations for passengers from Portugal and Europe in general," the statement said.
According to the statement, the Luanda/Lisbon route is one of the most prominent within TAAG's network, mobilizing growing traffic on the North and South connections, specifically Latin America, Africa and Europe, especially from Portuguese-speaking communities, whose destinations are covered by the national flag carrier.
It adds that the Angolan Institute for Tourism Promotion (Infotur) took part in the national flag carrier's pavilion, with mini talks, distribution of information and dialogue with the thousands of visitors to the fair.
During the event, strategies for joint promotion of Angola was discussed, with a view to increasing the number of tourists, taking into account the measures recently taken by the country’s government on visa exemption for 98 countries and the inauguration of a new international airport in Luanda.
The 34th edition of the Lisbon Tourism Exchange was attended by more than a thousand exhibitors and numerous professionals from the tourism and aviation sectors from all over the world.
"The Lisbon Tourism Exchange is an opportunity for TAAG to meet with suppliers and partners, prospect for business, find out about the latest market trends and the international tourism ecosystem," the statement said.
TAAG is a leading airline in Angola, currently flying to 12 domestic and 13 international destinations transporting passengers and cargo.OPF/AC/AMP
