Luanda – The Navigation company Secil Marítima SA on Tuesday said it has opened the Luanda/Cabinda route for the transportation of passengers and cargo with its maiden trip scheduled for July 29, reads a note from the Ministry of Transport.
The note adds that the Secil initially plans to use two vessels, one for passengers and another for non-containerized cargo, with one trip per day and two weekly frequencies on Mondays and Fridays through the routes Luanda-Cabinda, Cabinda -Soyo and Soyo-Luanda.
The trip between Luanda and Cabinda will take approximately 10 hours with the ticket priced at 30,000 Kwanzas with passengers allowed to carry 40 kg of luggage and two meals to be served during the trip.
Tickets can be purchased directly at points of sale located at the terminals in Luanda, Soyo and Cabinda.
The Ministry of Transport (MINTRANS), in collaboration with the Ports of Luanda, Soyo, Cabinda and Secil Marítima SA, is developing an investment programme within the scope of the North Cabotage project involving the construction and rehabilitation of passenger and load terminals.
