Benguela - The governor of coastal Benguela province, Luís Manuel da Fonseca Nunes, on Thursday recognized the development the transport sector has experienced in recent years.
The governor made the statement at the opening of the 15th Consultative Council of the Ministry of Transport, which runs until Friday, under the slogan ‘Consolidating the sector's reforms and developing Angola into a regional transport and logistics hub’.
Luís Nunes stressed that the sector is moving towards stabilizing transport and logistics mechanisms in line with the international context.
The governor reiterated the Benguela government’s commitment to collaborate and cooperate in the materialization of the different actions aimed at satisfying the needs of the population in the transport field.
Benguela province is well known for its strategic and economic potential, the governor said, underlining that the effective exploitation of which is a vector for the sustainable development that is desired.
The meeting is discussing topics on ‘The impact of public-private partnerships on the development and modernization of infrastructures’, ‘The importance of logistics infrastructures in the growth of the economy’ and ‘the certification of Catumbela International Airport’. JH/CRB/DAN/AMP
