Luanda - The National Air Navigation Company (ENNA-EP) and the Air Traffic Controllers Union (SINCTA) signed an agreement Thursday to improve the professional and social conditions of this class of aeronautical workers.
According to a statement sent to ANGOP Friday, the agreement was preceded by a number of alignment meetings between the parties and demonstrates the mutual commitment to guarantee the well-being of the workers and their effective working conditions.
It adds that the agreement was formalized after a series of meetings aimed at responding to the demands of a professional group that plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of air navigation in Angola.
Representing a significant moment in the relationship between ENNA and SINCTA, the agreement now signed highlights the importance of collaboration, mutual respect and the establishment of a permanent channel of communication between the company and the union,’ the statement said.
According to the ENNA-EP's CEO, Bernarda de Paiva Henrique, quoted in the statement, the agreement also guarantees that air traffic controllers' concerns and suggestions will be heard and addressed in their own forum.
We are pleased to have reached an understanding that benefits both the air traffic controllers and the company, since the safety and efficiency of our civil aviation system are priorities and, to this end, we rely on a team of professionals who are properly trained and highly motivated so that this sub-sector responds to what is expected of it,’ Bernarda Henrique said.
The president of the Air Traffic Controllers Union, Nuno Kakumba Vicente Francisco, on his turn stressed that said the agreement represents a significant advance in the working conditions of air traffic controllers and is an important step towards valuing the profession and the career.
‘We are grateful for the company's willingness to engage in dialogue with us and to work together to find the best solutions for both parties, because ENNA-EP and SINCTA are thus reaffirming their commitment to air safety and to valuing their professionals (.....),’ he said.
The statement emphasizes that the agreement will bring lasting benefits for ENNA, the company responsible for air traffic management in the Luanda Flight Information Region, and the union.
