Luanda - The Airport Management Company (SGA) has been representing Angola, since Tuesday, at the "World Aviation Festival/2023" in Lisbon, Portugal, with the aim of sharing experiences and consolidating partnerships with counterparts.
At the event, which runs until the 28th of this month, the company responsible for managing the country's airports will also seize the occasion to internationalize its brand and interact with the best in the sector.
The "World Aviation Festival" is a conference and exhibition format event aimed at world leaders of airlines, airports and their most senior executives responsible for software, services, marketing and distribution.
For the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Airport Management Company, José Baptista Venâncio, the presence represents a major milestone for the Angolan airport sector and is aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization he heads.
In an interview with Angolan National Television (TPA), José Venâncio has said it was important to always learn good practices from the best.
"At these events, the best are present. And from the program, we noticed that CEO's or Charman's of airlines, operators and all companies that compete in aviation are represented here, at the highest level, and we are here as exhibitors", he said.
He explained that, in 2022, he participated, for the first time as a guest, in Singapore, and that now he has a more realistic participation, in demonstrations at the country's 17 airports, but more specifically at 7 airports in the main network.
"Anyone who visits our stand can see what the airports, runways and everything related to the main network are like. And, in parallel with the Aviation sector, we are promoting tourism and part of the seven national wonders", he said.
Meanwhile, José Venâncio regretted the absence of TAAG (Angola state-owned airliner), as he understood that in activities of this kind there is a lot of networking (i.e contacts for partnerships).
"We are working to certify, for now, two airports. Our concentration, our batteries are directed to Catumbela airport, then to Huíla Airport, Mukanka" highlighted the SGA's CEO.
The manager highlighted that priority is being given to the certification of several national airports, and then an invitation to certain airlines to be able to land at these certified airports, particularly those with international flights.
According to a note from the aforementioned Airport Management Society (SGA) to which ANGOP had access today, more than one hundred (100) exhibitors, more than 500 speakers from around the world are participating in this edition and 5000 people are expected to visit during the three days of the event.
