Talatona - The 3rd edition of Acelera Net, an initiative by Angolan multinational telecommunications operator Angola Cable, plans to support 50 small digital businesses, with the aim to keep companies in the market as well as to encourage “online entrepreneurship” in the country.
According to the Executive Chief of Angola Cables, Ângelo Gama, speaking during the opening of the third activity on Tuesday, in the Province of Luanda, the first edition benefited 10 youths’ projects and the 2nd edition supported 21.
To this end, at a Roundtable he warned that the companies that will benefit from support must be licensed with the regulator.
Ângelo Gama informed that the support is to accelerate the project, providing training, monitoring, internet and technology, aiming to help the digital service in the country.
He added that the project counts on a partnership with the National Institute for Support to Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) and other international partners, for technological development in the country.
Ângelo Gama said that there are young entrepreneurs who know a lot about technology, but they know management and finance and how to run businesses, which is why we are also investing in training so that projects are successful.
He recalled that before this edition, 27 startups from small internet service providers (ISPs) benefited from the tools and knowledge (technical and management) necessary to prosper in a competitive market.
The AceleraNet Program is a strategic initiative designed to invest in the digital economy in Angola, offering essential support to small internet service providers so that they can operate with high quality standards.
Its purpose is to ensure that digital projects meet market criteria, while minimizing costs that could make their operations unfeasible.
