Luanda - The implementation of policies to strengthen the technological ecosystem to encourage and create products and services for the population was defended Monday, in the Province of Luanda, by the executive director of the technology company Moxi, Carlos Pinto.
In an interview to ANGOP to take stock of Moxi's participation in the Web Summit Qatar, which took place from 26 to 29 February in Doha, Carlos Pinto stressed that "It is necessary to create mentoring companies for small entrepreneurs, venture capital companies that bet on and make investments in the initial phase of a start-up, as well as the regulation of start-ups".
He considered the regulation of start-ups to be extremely important, in order to facilitate the positioning of the different players in the sector's ecosystem and to make it easier to know who should license and certify them.
According to the director, the country should see the technology sector as an area that can contribute to solving various problems, in areas such as agriculture and education.
"Our strategy for other markets, on an international level, came to life with our participation in Web Summit Qatar. We have good prospects on how to enter and the Middle East will be our first market.
He added that, at the event, the company exhibited an audio and video platform made up of content production in which existing components were integrated to create a new one.
The offiicial revealed that during the three days of the Web Summit Qatar, the company took part in seminars with international directors and high-tech industry leaders.
"We bring an advanced level of wisdom and experience, both in terms of technology and global trends in artificial intelligence," he emphasised.
Carlos Pinto said that in a short period of time, the company will introduce artificial intelligence in their digital platform and other companies should follow as it will be the trend in the sector.
He emphasised the importance of Angolan companies taking part in events such as the one held in Qatar, with a view to exchanging experiences and partnership agreements for the growth of the technology sector in Angola.
"We have managed to forge partnerships with companies from various countries such as Brazil, Portugal, Qatar, Japan and India, and there are entrepreneurs interested in bringing their products to Angola through our company. Services that we do not have in the country," he emphasised.
The company Moxi has a summit platform that allows audio, video and podcast playback.
Four startups represented Angola at Web Summit Qatar, which was attended by more than 50,000 companies in what is considered to be one of the world's largest technology events.
The Luanda Entrepreneur Academy took part in Web Summit Qatar 2024, as a benchmark institution for supporting startups and promoting technology-based entrepreneurship, in search of new solutions and partnerships.
