Luanda – Telecommunications and information technology students learned about space Technologies, in Luanda, in a seminar given by three American scientists from the technology company MYT.
The training session, organized by the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), had as its main objective the exchange of experiences and presentations of solutions to be implemented in risk areas.
At the end of the activity, the ambassador for the Dissemination of the Space Sector in Angola, Gilson Rodrigues, said that the exchange of experiences was of great value, as the students were able to understand how to act, especially in risk areas.
"As is already known, to have greater coverage in risk areas, it is necessary to have an observation satellite that identifies, more clearly, the areas and how to act", he said.
The official explained, for example, that, with the operation of the Angosat 2 satellite, the provinces of Cunene and Namibe were identified as those with areas most affected by drought, and will therefore benefit, as a result of advances in technology.
For third-year IT student Marcelino Gaspar, it is good to share experiences with people who are already part of the sector.
"It was a good experience, the knowledge exchange from people who dominate the area, we learned a lot", he indicated.
Who also agrees with this opinion is the Information Technology student, Joana Pedro, who highlighted the importance of the seminar, as I was able to find out more about the activity of satellites and their impact on society.
The North American experts who taught the training are Danielle Wood, Sharif Islam and Katlyn Turner. LIN/AC/CF/DOJ
