Luanda - Angolan company LiraLink Tecnology and the Chinese company ZTE signed Tuesday in Luanda an agreement for the implementation of a 4G and 5G mobile phone factory.
In the presence of minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication Mário Oliveira, the general director of LiraLink Walter João and the vice-president of the ZTE group Ni-Fei signed the agreement.
The agreement was signed within the framework of three-day ANGOTIC 2023-International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies of Angola, started on 12 June.
According to the director of ZTE's commercial area, Lúcia Yang, the mobile phones will be accessible to the Angolan population, but he would not disclose the prices.
The factory, he said, will also have a support center to respond to customer needs.
In turn, the director general of LiraLink Tecnology, said that the mobile phones will be 100 percent produced in Angola and announced plans to employ, in a first phase, 60 workers and to expand to more than 200 employees by 2025. ML/PA/AC/NIC
