Luanda - Brazil's Federal Service of Data Processing (SERPRO) and Angola's Public Finance Information Technology and Communication Service (SETIC-FP) signed a bilateral cooperation agreement on Tuesday in Brasilia city, Brazil.
The agreement is expected to result in excellent levels of cooperation and partnership to contribute to the promotion, modernisation and development of information and communication technologies in Angola and strengthen cooperation and strategic partnership between the two institutions.
Edilson Coelho, director general of SETIC-FP, said the memo is a reminder of an exchange that began in 2008, when they had the opportunity to get to know a Brazilian public software portal during an event in Luanda.
SERPRO's CEO, Alexandre Amorim, said the agreement marks the beginning of a new era in cooperation between Brazil and Angola, especially in the search for exchange of knowledge, innovation and solutions in information technology.
SERPRO in Brazil is strongly linked to the Ministry of Finance, while in Angola SETIC-FP is an integral part of the Finance Ministry.
