Malanje - Reinforcing investment in the country's Water and Sanitation Companies, to increase the efficiency of operations, is part of the recommendations made Thursday, at the North Regional Workshop on Water, held in the city of Malanje.

The event promoted by the Electricity and Water Services Regulatory Institute (IRSEA), also recommended the rationalization of expenses in the companies, the reinforcement of the culture of compliance with internal procedures and the provision of timely information for regulatory purposes, in addition to continuous training of workers, with a view to improving the services provided.

Speaking at the closing act, the Executive Administrator of IRSEA, Adriano Mayano, reiterated the commitment to training workers in the water sector in matters of digital transformation as a requirement for the use of digital tools and to revolutionize the services provided to the public.

Regarding the meeting, he highlighted that it will contribute to adapting the procedures of companies of interest to the State, to guarantee economic and financial balance, towards efficient management.

The two days workshop took place under the motto “Digital Transformation of Data in Real Time to Improve Performance of the Water and Sanitation Subsector”.

It brought together the Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Water and Sanitation Companies in the provinces of Bengo, Cabinda, Cuanza- North, Luanda, Malanje, Uíge and Zaire.

It addressed topics such as the IRSEA Regulation Module in the Water and Sanitation Sector Information System, Economic-financial and Commercial Situation of Managing Entities, the Regulatory Role in Monitoring, Monitoring and Inspection of the Quality of Fecal Sludge and the Impact of Reducing Losses in Water Supply and Sanitation Systems.
