Huambo - One citizen lost his life and two others are missing as a result of the sinking of an artisanal canoe, while trying to cross the Keve River, in the municipality of Londuimbali, Huambo province, the Civil Protection and Fire Service said Tuesday.
The canoe was carrying five people, two of whom were rescued alive.
So far the causes of the canoe's sinking, which occurred on Monday in the village of Lomone, are unknown.
The forces of the Road Accident Prevention and Rescue Detachment in the Bonga sector, Alto Hama commune, Londuimbali municipality, continuing the search efforts to locate the two missing citizens.
In April, at least six people died after being swept away by the current of the River Cunene.
