Cazenga - The bishop of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World (Tocoista), Dom Afonso Nunes, urged the faithful of the congregation on Tuesday, in Luanda, to use the mass media, mainly social media, to spread the gospel.
Dom Afonso Nunes, who spoke at the opening of a methodological seminar on pastoral ministry, defended the correct use of social media in favor of a more peaceful and harmonious society.
“It is necessary for believers to learn to communicate and use these means appropriately to spread the gospel message. These challenges should lead us to prepare ourselves with perseverance in the sacred scriptures, which can make us wise and efficient in expounding the word of God”, he said.
Regarding the seminar, the cleric stressed that it aims to train ministers of worship in relevant matters regarding evangelization, Christian education, finances and the Church's correct management.
“With this training programme we intend to make the church more alive, active, responsible and able to understand the signs of the times”, he added.
Lasting three days, the workshop is promoted as part of the Jubilee celebrations of the Pastoral Ministry and is attended by 300 delegates from Angola, São Tomé and Príncipe, Portugal, Spain, Germany, France and Belgium.
