Mbanza Kongo – Three fields which had more than 40k plants of cannabis were destroyed on Monday by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in the municipality of Cuimba, Zaire Province.
The destruction of the aforementioned cultivation fields occurred in the village of Kindualo, Serra da Kanda commune.
Speaking on Tuesday to ANGOP, the spokesperson for the provincial delegation of the Ministry of the Interior, Sérgio Afonso, explained that the fields were of around 1 hectare each.
He reported that the owners of the mines are at run, but SIC, in coordination with the National Police, is on the trail of the perpetrators to be captured and held criminally responsible.
The municipality of Cuimba has a geographic extension of 3,451Km2, and an estimated population of more than 70,000 people, spread across the municipalities of Buela, Serra da Kanda, Luvaka and Sede.
