Mbanza Kongo - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Mbanza Kongo municipality, northern Zaire province, arrested a 37-year-old national early this weekend for allegedly sexually abusing a three-year-old child, the local SIC director Pedro Nkosi Pereira told ANGOP on Monday.
According to the SIC director, the incident took place in the 11 de Novembro neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city, when the accused, who was a neighbor, took advantage of the absence of the mother to carry out this macabre act, and that the police had learned about it through a complaint from the parents.
Pedro Nkosi Pereira said that laboratory tests carried out at the Zaire Provincial Hospital in Mbanza Kongo confirmed the introduction of the penis, which caused the child to bleed and suffer vaginal injuries.
The Criminal Investigation Service in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo has recorded a total of eight cases of child rape in the last 30 days.
