Malanje- A 28-year-old national was arrested Friday by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) for kidnapping and attempting to sell a seven-year-old girl in Calandula municipality, northern Malanje province.
The information was disclosed to ANGOP by the SIC spokesperson, Augusto Barros André, stressing that the accused questioned the child on the way home from a canteen and transported her to a neighborhood located six kilometers from the scene, where he kept her in private confinement for 24 hours.
According to the SIC spokesperson, the kidnapping took place on Thursday and that the perpetrator left his phone at the scene in order to contact the victim's relatives, from whom he demanded 300,000 kwanzas for her ransom, or he would sell her to a couple of Congolese citizens with whom he had negotiated.
The National Police also dismantled two groups of alleged criminals called “BDC” and “15 Caravana”, made up of five members who engaged in criminal association, thefts of motorbikes and household appliances on public roads and in homes, riots, among other crimes.NC/PBC/TED/AMP
