Luanda – The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), on Tuesday in Luanda, arrested a non-executive director of the Tax Workers' Pension and Reform Fund (CPATT), as part of the criminal investigation process related to the case linked to the seven million kwanzas of the General Tax Administration (AGT).
According to a note from the SIC press office, the administrator was arrested for the crimes of illegitimate access to the information system and corruption through the Information System, Computer Forgery, Criminal Association and Embezzlement.
The SIC claims that there are strong signs of his involvement in the fraudulent scheme of compensation payments, in relation to the refund of Value Added Tax (VAT).
The arrest was made by the National Directorate for Combating Cybercrimes of the SIC, in a joint operation with the Office for Combating Cybercrimes of the Attorney General's Office and the Central Operations Directorate.
The administrator, who was a fugitive from justice, was arrested following an arrest warrant and should be presented, in the next few days, to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the subsequent legal procedures.
However, investigations are underway into the criminal case involving the seven billion kwanzas from AGT, in order to fully clarify this fraudulent scheme.
