Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Tuesday, in Luanda Province, stated that a truly structural transformation is underway in the National Health Service to achieve universal coverage.
When delivering the message on the State of the Nation, at the opening session of the Parliamentary Year, João Lourenço said that, as a result of this transformation, of the more than 30 million consultations carried out until the end of the first half of 2024, around 73% received primary care health services enabled a reduction in mortality among children under 5 years of age.
He revealed that during this period, the mortality of children under five years of age went from 68 to 52 per thousand live births, while that of children under one year old went from 44 to 32 per thousand live births.
