Lubango – Huila government is currently seeking investments to kick off this year, the second phase of the Integrated Infrastructure works in the province capital, Lubango, the local governor, Nuno Mahapi has said.
In July 2023, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, through Presidential Decree authorized the expenditure to open the Simplified Contracting Procedure to award the public works contract for Urban Requalification of Lubango city, worth 287.3 million dollars.
In addition to the construction and rehabilitation of peripheral and urban roads, covering a length of approximately 90.44 kilometers, the requalification includes the execution of complementary services, such as the collection and treatment of solid waste, water collection and distribution, rehabilitation of buildings and Street lighting.
Speaking to Angola national radio, Mahapi Said the contracts have already been made and approved by the Court of Auditors.
“These are works that require large financial resources and our source is the General State Budget. As you know, we are not in a very good financial condition, but our second phase is just around the corner”, the governor said.
