Luanda - The former Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) journalist, António José Piçarra, who died on the 12th of this month, in Luanda, due to illness, was buried today, Friday, at the Alto das Cruzes Cemetery, in Luanda.
The journalist's burial was marked by the commotion of family, friends, professional colleagues and neighbors who, in messages, remembered António Piçarra as a present, determined person and a competent professional.
Toy Piçarra, as he was better known, was considered by his colleagues at ANGOP as an excellent professional who enjoyed what he did, with dedication and professionalism, so that younger journalists gradually improved their performance.
The deceased joined the ANGOP staff in the 1980s, having held several roles, including Editor of the Political Desk, National Editor-in-Chief and Regional Delegate in the provinces of Huíla, Namibe and Cunene.
Born in Luanda, Toy Piçarra also worked in the editorial area of the company Executive Center, owner of several titles, such as Economia e Mercado, Sabores and Austral.
António José Piçarra, who died at the age of 67, was also a journalist for Seminário Agora.
The journalist completed his primary education at the Posto 15 school, in Prenda neighborhood, in Luanda, before proceeding to the preparatory course at Dom João I Schooll, in Luanda. He worked at Correios de Angola and, for some time, pursued a teaching career.
