Lubango – At least 13 unexploded explosive devices were removed from the surroundings of residences and farms, in Mapunda and Arimba neighborhood, in the municipality of Lubango, Huíla Province, by the National Demining Center (CND).
These are 10 75mm projectiles, 2 100mm and 1 122mm that were located by the population, on the 6th of the current month, and promptly reported it to the authorities, according to the acting spokesperson for CND/Huíla, Fernando Katyavala.
Speaking on Friday, to ANGOP, Fernando Katyavala highlighted that as soon as they were informed about the existence of these devices, in those areas, the team quickly went to the place to remove it.
He highlighted that, as part of the Mine Risk Education and Prevention activity, 32 people were trained in the same neighborhood, including 12 adults and 20 children.
Fernando Katyavala appealed to the population to continue to inform the nearest police and traditional authorities when they come across explosive devices.
