Luanda - The Ombuds Office on Wednesday in Luanda Province is to promote a workshop on the importance of this institution in a democratic and law-abiding state, plus its institutionalization.
The event is part of the International Ombuds Day, to be marked on October 10th, to take place under the motto "Ombudsperson here to listen to you", according to the technique of the Directorate of Exchange and International Cooperation of this institution, Albertina dos Santos.
Speaking to the press this Wednesday, she emphasized that the forum's work will be chaired by the Angolan Ombudswoman, Florbela Araújo.
The initiative will feature representatives from other countries, with emphasis on Italy.
In Angola, Ombuds Office services are available in 10 provinces.
“We are currently represented in 10 provinces of Angola, but we want to be in 18,” she said.
International Ombuds Day was established in 2018 by the United States Bar Association.
The Ombuds Office is a public institution whose purpose is to defend the rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens and guarantee, through informal means, justice and legality.
