Luanda – The First Lady of Angola, Ana Dias Lourenço, is in Windhoek at the invitation of her Namibian counterpart, Monica Geingos, to take part in the inaugural session of the Youth Campus dubbed "Befree", a social project linked to young people.
According to a statement from the Angolan Embassy in Namibia, which ANGOP has received, Ana Dias Lourenço is scheduled to speak at the opening of the event, addressing hundreds of young Namibians - the beneficiaries of the project that aims to provide integrated and multidisciplinary assistance in the fight against sexually transmitted diseases and work for youth development.
The project was set up jointly between young Namibians and the OneEconomy Foundation of Namibia's First Lady, Monica Geingos.
The inauguration of the "Befree" Youth Campus will be attended by the President of Namibia, Hage Geingob, and foreign guests.
Ana Dias Lourenço has developed various initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the population, particularly the most vulnerable.
The First Lady has prioritised the sustainable integrated development of communities with a focus on education, health, environment and culture, paying particular attention to young girls.
The First Lady leads the "Born Free to Shine Campaign" and remains dedicated to programmes to combat HIV/AIDS, with particular attention to women and children, through the "Generation without AIDS in 2023" project, whose aim is to reduce paediatric AIDS by 2030.
