Luanda - More than 100 children from homes and childhood centers in the province of Luanda had, this Friday, a fraternization in the garden of Cidade Alta, in another solidarity action of the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço.
During the event, held as part of the Wheel of Love project and which began with a guided tour of the fountain in the Palace garden, the little ones sang, danced, played and received toys from the presidential couple.
The children were thrilled to the sound of the 2021 star, Ângela Ferrão, and couldn't help but laugh at the clown's performances.
They also toasted those present with a dance display and poetry recitation, before the cutting of the cake by the presidential couple.
A more supportive country
The First Lady, accompanied by President João Lourenço, said that because of Covid-19 it was not possible to gather a larger number of children from institutions in Luanda and other provinces for "a hug and to be together".
"But I wanted to be with you. It wasn't easy for me to stay so long without such a nice meeting with you. I am very happy that you are in my heart, even though I can't hug you", Ana Dias Lourenço underlined.
In her opinion, the most important thing for the Wheel of Love is to have families and shelters where the children are, in all the houses.
Wishing a Merry Christmas to all Angolan families, the wife of the President of the Republic expressed her wish to hug the children again in 2022.
