Luanda - The First Lady of Angola, Ana Dias Lourenço, on Tuesday in Luanda highlighted the importance of the Muhatu Energy Angola network as a potential creator of a centre of excellence for women.
Ana Dias Lourenço was speaking at the launch ceremony of the "Muhatu Energy Angola" network mentoring programme, which aims to work with experienced women in the oil industry to boost the progress of their careers and to encourage new talents to join the sector.
The First Lady praised the initiative as being laudable and admirable for creating career opportunities and encouraging the development of leadership among women in the oil business.
The network, the First Lady said, was born to boost, empower and give visibility to women in this sector.
"Unfortunately we always need to remind the world that women are a fundamental piece that together with men, make the world more productive, happier and more important", the First Lady said.
Muhatu Energy Angola is an initiative led by women in the oil sector, whose aim is to promote career opportunities and boost talent.
Officially created in March 2022, with support of oil companies, it has 73 female mentors and 45 male mentors.
