Ramiro - An early morning fire caused 350 million Kwanzas in damage at the Kifica market located in Talatona municipality, Luanda, on Sunday (23), according to a provisional assessment conducted on Monday.
More than 65 percent of the physical structures of the market were consumed and the most affected area was that devoted to the sale of construction material, stated the Administration of the Urban District of Benfica.
The district administrator, Braudílio Vaz, revealed that a commission of experts, coordinated by specialists from the Fire Fighters Department (SNPCB), is working to determine the real causes of the accident, as well as the definitive damages.
The fire mainly affected the sectors selling construction material (paints, electrical cables and pvc hydraulic pipes), used clothing, foam mattresses, footwear, household items, computers, teaching materials and food.
Braulídio Vaz said that they will register all affected sellers to be forwarded to the municipal and provincial authorities.
