Uíge – At least 250 000 kilograms of marijuana have been seized in the last two weeks by the National Police in northern Uíge province, authorities have said.
According to the Police statement, the drug was heading to the country’s capital, Luanda stored in 65 bags of 25 kilograms and that the apprehension of the cannabis is part of an operation called "Vassoura", being carried out by the National Police and the local Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
The police action resulted in the arrest of more than 60 nationals, aged between 22 and 33. NM/JAR
