Menongue – National police spokesperson in Cuando Cubango province, chief superintendent António Maria on Tuesday highlighted the commitment of journalists from the Angola Press Agency (ANGOP), in their mission to inform and educate the public through news content.
António Maria, who also is director of Institutional Communication and Press of the Home Affairs Ministry of the Interior delegation made this recognition at the end of a visit by National Police personnel to ANGOP office in Cuando-Cubango, as part of their 48th anniversary to be celebrated this Wednesday.
According to the officer, during the visit it was possible to assess the company's functioning and the strengthening of institutional ties, highlighting the contribution of the only State news agency in the dissemination of national and international news.
He praised ANGOP's investment in the production of audiovisual content, in which it went from a mere supporting role to the main actor in the coverage of various events, including live broadcasts.
During the visit, the corporation's staff visited the different areas of the delegation, namely the editorial and technical areas, having received detailed information about the company's operations from the provincial delegate, Felícia Saúde.
Despite having a staff of five journalists, António Maria recognized the assertive responses that professionals have given when it comes to news production, as a result of the technological means available and collaboration with other media outlets.
He made it known that, within the National Police festivities, lectures were held on the history of the National Police, football tournaments, a visit to Jornal de Angola, among other activities. LMZ/ALK/FF/PLB/CF/DOJ
