Luanda - The Association for Promotion, Development, Property and Technology (PDPT) launched this Monday, in Luanda, the Talent Identification and Development Programme (PIDT), with which it will develop entrepreneurial skills of 50 young people.
The programme will last for six months and will grant scholarships in Angola and the United States of America to the most outstanding youths.
In this context, the institution aims to empower Angolan children and youth through capacity building and entrepreneurship development.
For this purpose, the selection process for the PIDT 2023 will start in May with the launching of the public tender that will identify the 50 beneficiary finalists.
Candidates must be Angolans between the ages of 14 and 25, must be attending or have already completed secondary or university education at a public or private institution, and not be employed.
The 50 selected candidates will undergo competence development programme and will be assisted by support services for experimentation and project acceleration.
The technical-vocational training is free and covers specific fields such as entrepreneurship, as well as information and communication technologies.
According to the president of the Association, Pedro Godinho, it is an initiative aimed at training young people and teenagers, contributing for the creation of social projects in the communities.
He added that the idea is to help young people to make their dreams come true in the entrepreneurship and business world, as well as their academic training.
By the way, the president of the Bornito de Sousa Foundation, Bornito de Sousa Baltazar Diogo, informed that since it is an issue related to the institution's field of action, the foundation is available to provide the necessary support to the initiative.

Bornito de Sousa said that the foundation, whose constitution process is in its final stage, will be dedicated, fundamentally, to five areas of action: education, youth and digital inclusion, local development and social inclusion, environmental sustainability, citizenship, leadership, and good governance.
To the Vice-governor of Luanda, capital city, Gilson dos Santos Antunes, the initiative is welcome because it fits in the Government of Luanda´s view for the emergency of more entrepreneurs who can generate jobs for other young people.
The Talent Identification and Development Programme (PIDT), has the support of different private entities within the scope of their corporate social responsibility, as well as public institutions, including the Bornito de Sousa Foundation.
The PDPT Association is a non-profit institution, established in 2020. It develops talent support programmes and partners to stimulate entrepreneurship and general and technological skills of school-age children and young people.
