Chitembo - The lawmakers of the Bie provincial constituency considered the progress of the works underway in Chitembo municipality to be positive, looking forward to the socio-economic development and well-being of the population.
Speaking to the press, MP Anastácio Severino Sambowe said the purpose of the trip to Chitembo was to assess the projects and actions being carried out under the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty, as well as the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
Chitembo has 11 projects and two actions, including the asphalting of five kilometers of roads in the municipal centre, the construction of three schools with 16 and 12 classrooms, the earthmoving of 45 kilometers of roads and others.
The MPs visited the centre for the collection, treatment and distribution of drinking water, the municipal building, among other social undertakings, which will contribute to improve the living conditions of the population.
Chitembo municipality is one of the nine that make up the province of Bié. It covers 19, 98 square kilometers, located 150 kilometers south of Cuito city, with an estimated population of 104,434 inhabitants, spread over six communes. BAN/PLB/DAN/AMP
