Luanda - Pope Francis appointed Friday the Angolan Reverend Monsignor Germano Penemote as Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan, becoming the first Angolan to hold this position at the Holy See's diplomatic service.
Germano Penemote was born in Ondobe, southern Cunene province, Angola, on October 24, 1969. He was ordained priest on December 6, 1998, at the Diocese of Ondjiva.
The Rev. entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in July 2003 and worked in the apostolic nunciature of Benin, Uruguay, Slovakia, Thailand, Hungary, Peru and Romania.
He graduated at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in Utroque Iure (Canon and Civil Law), he is fluent in French, English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish AMP/NIC.
